Shedeur Sanders thinks he knows who’s responsible for the prank call he received during the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday night.
It did appear that the Colorado star would slip all the way through the Draft, but the Cleveland Browns have selected him at No. 144 overall, using their fifth-round draft pick to add him to their stacked QB room.
Shedeur was forced to wait until Day 3 and likely lost plenty of sleep, but he thought the nightmare would end a lot sooner when his phone rang and he was told that the New Orleans Saints were set to make him their man.
He was completely fooled, too, as he was told the caller he had been waiting a long time for them to reach out, only to be told he’d have to wait some more before being hung up on, then realizing he got pranked on his own stream.
Shedeur Sanders Blames The Kids
The quarterback was back streaming on Saturday and discussed the call with his brother Shilo as they tried to figure out how someone could have gotten the number he got specifically for the draft.
“Nobody had the number,” he said. “The number was only in the email thread that the NFL sent out.”

“So the NFL leaked it, basically,” Shilo replied, but Shedeur immediately shut that down, surmising that it could have been an exec’s kid who saw the email and got his number from it.
“You can’t say that,” he argued. ‘It could be one of their kids that seen the email and just took the number.”
While this was an incredibly wicked prank, Shedeur didn’t seem mad about it at all.
He’s going to be able to laugh about this whole experience at some point now that he’s realized his dream of making it to the NFL.
