Football fans are teeing off on FS1’s Joy Taylor over her rant on NFL quarterback evaluators after Shedeur Sanders unexpectedly fell in the 2025 draft last week.
In one of the most stunning draft falls in NFL history, Shedeur Sanders went from a projected top-10 pick to not even being selected until day three. Finally, on Saturday, the Cleveland Browns drafted Sanders 144th overall in the fifth round.
It was also a surprise when the Browns took Sanders, since they had already used a third-round pick on Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel. The Browns QB room also boasts Joe Flacco, Deshaun Watson and Kenny Pickett.
Speaking on Monday’s edition of FS1’s “Speak” program, Joy Taylor went on a scathing rant against quarterback evaluators following Sanders’ unexpected fall in the draft:
“With all due respect, I don’t care about quarterback evaluators. You don’t know what you’re talking about….They do not know how to evaluate the quarterback position…There is an insurmountable amount of evidence that you are completely clueless when it comes to evaluating quarterbacks…No one knows how to evaluate quarterbacks!”

“Sport shows need to start getting rid of Sports journalists and just have former coaches, players, and execs. I don’t care about her opinion,” said another.

Shedeur Sanders was ranked as the No. 5 prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft by ESPN’s Mel Kiper, and No. 20 by NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah. Kyper was one of the few analysts who had Sanders ranked ahead of Cam Wad, who went first overall to the Tennessee Titans.
Not only did Sanders fall way down the board, but he also landed on a team that may not even give him meaningful reps at QB in 2025. After all, the Browns have four other quarterbacks (including three former starters) on their depth chart.
Up To Shedeur Sanders To Prove Everybody Wrong

As disappointing as it was for Sanders and his family to wait until round five to be selected, this isn’t the end of his story by any means. Tom Brady (a sixth-round pick) Joe Montana (third-round pick), Dak Prescott (fourth-round pick), Kurt Warner (undrafted) and Brett Favre (second-round pick), were passed over by each team and didn’t enter the NFL with a lot of hype, after all.
