Steve Spurrier is once again on top of the football world.
More than three months since the Alliance of American Football suddenly suspended all football operations after just eight weeks of action, the Head Ball Coach was presented with a custom-made Orlando Apollos AAF championship ring.
Spurrier came out of retirement to coach in the upstart league and finished the season with a 7-1 record with the next-best teams — the Birmingham Iron, Arizona Hotshots and San Antonio Commanders — each going 5-3.
Spurrier even talked about being named AAF Champs after the league folded.
On Friday, he was granted his wish when he received his ring.
Unlike the XFL, no one expects the AAF to ever comeback and try again years later.
