Terry Bradshaw has never been one to hold back. The Hall of Fame quarterback turned Fox Sports analyst is known for his blunt honesty, whether breaking down an NFL game or sharing his views on more significant issues. Over the years, Bradshaw has spoken candidly about football, life, and politics.
One subject he hasn’t shied away from is his opinion on President Donald Trump.
Bradshaw, a longtime Republican who later registered as an independent, has clarified that his biggest frustration with Trump isn’t about policy, it’s about focus. While Trump zeroed in on athletes kneeling during the national anthem, Bradshaw believed there were far more pressing issues at hand.
Terry Bradshaw Calls For Priorities Beyond NFL Protests

Back in 2020, Bradshaw voiced his frustration over Trump’s repeated attacks on NFL players who protested during the national anthem. The former Steelers quarterback questioned why the President spent so much time criticizing athletes instead of focusing on critical global concerns.
“This is America. If our country stands for anything, folks, it’s freedom. People died for that freedom. I’m not sure if our President understands those rights,” Terry Bradshaw said. “That every American has the right to speak out, also to protest. Believe me, these athletes do love this great country of ours.”
He also pointed out that Trump should have been more concerned about international threats and domestic issues like healthcare rather than using his platform to target the NFL. “Personally, I think our President should concentrate on North Korea and healthcare rather than ripping into athletes and the NFL,” he added.

Bradshaw’s stance resonated with many fans who shared similar frustrations about the hyper-politicization of sports. While some agreed with Trump’s criticism of the protests, others appreciated Bradshaw’s call for a leader who prioritizes more significant national concerns.
Although Bradshaw’s outspoken nature has always set him apart, both as a player and a broadcaster, with his retirement from Fox Sports on the horizon, it remains to be seen whether he’ll continue to share his thoughts on Trump’s second term or stick to football for his final years on air.
