“The Naked Gun” reboot took a shot at the late O.J. Simpson, who starred in the first three films of the series, in a scene featured at the end of the trailer.
O.J. Simpson starred in the first three films of “The Naked Gun” series, alongside Leslie Nielsen (he played the main character, Frank Drebin), George Kennedy (Ed Hocken) and Priscilla Presley (Jane Spencer).
Simpson starred in the three films before he was arrested and charged with the 1994 murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ronald Lyle Goldman. Simpson played Detective Fred Nordberg, an ally of Drebin and Hocken.
Paramount Pictures released the trailer for the highly-anticipated fourth film that stars Liam Neeson (Frank Drebin Jr.), Paul Walter Hauser (Ed Hocken Jr.), Pamela Anderson and Kevin Durand.
In the trailer’s final scene (beginning at the 0:47 mark) the Police Squad members pay tribute to their deceased fathers. The men become emotional and start crying…except Nordberg’s son, who calmly shows he’s not missing his father at all.

“Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult”, was released in March 1994, three months before Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were murdered. This would be the last film in Simpson’s career.

Simpson was controversially acquitted in what was deemed “The Trial of the Century”, despite significant DNA and circumstantial evidence against him. Simpson, however, was later found liable for the double murder and ordered to pay the victims’ families $33.5 million.
O.J. Simpson Died Of Cancer Last April
The controversial football player-turned-athlete died of cancer at the age of 76 last year, three months before his 77th birthday. Simpson was survived by his four children: Arnelle and Jason from his first marriage to Marguerite Whitley and Sydney and Justin from his marriage to Nicole.
