ESPN executive director Cristina Daglas has been let go from the company following an investigation into complaints made against her.
According to a report from Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports, employees at the Worldwide Leader in Sports were informed that Daglas has been fired. The news comes two months after Front Office Sports initially reported that complaints to human resources prompted ESPN to put her on administrative leave in January.
Specifics of the complaints against Daglas haven’t been revealed. Glasspiegel also reported last month that an attorney representing Daglas submitted a cease-and-desist letter to the network, accusing them of “unlawful harassment, retaliation, and investigation.”
Per Glasspiegel, worked with the Worldwide Leader in Sports since 2016, working primarily on the ESPN website to produce digital content.
Daglas graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in journalism and from the University of Missouri-Columbia with an MA in journalism. Before joining ESPN, she worked for Milwaukee Magazine and D Magazine in Dallas/Fort Worth.
Aside from her career at the Worldwide Leader in Sports, Daglas has served as an adjunct professor at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
Earlier this month, news emerged that the company also moved on from senior deputy editor Elizabeth Baugh, who had been placed on administrative leave as well. Baugh took a position with Ring Magazine.

The Turnover At ESPN Continues

A lot has changed at the world’s largest sports media network dating back to 2023, when ESPN started conducting a long series of employee cuts.
Disney CEO Bob Iger warned in early 2023 that the company would cut thousands of jobs in order to save the company billions of dollars. The company parted ways with big-named talents like Jeff Van Gundy, Max Kellerman, Jalen Rose, Suzy Kolber, Steve Young, Matt Hasselbeck, Todd McShay, Keyshawn Johnson and Chris Chelios.
