The first round of the 2025 WNBA Draft is complete, yet the fans are not getting over every detail of the top picks. Soon after the names were announced, one of the top draft picks who went viral for a braless outfit got everybody’s attention for dating a Dallas Cowboys player.
The Washington Mystics selected Sonia Citron of Notre Dame as the third overall pick. While she went viral for her bold outfit on the draft night, the internet is reeling over her dating Marist Liufu of the Cowboys.
Liufau is a standout linebacker for the Cowboys. He made a name for himself during his impressive college career at the University of Notre Dame. The Hawaii native made a successful transition to the NFL as the 87th overall pick in the 2024 draft.

Cowboys Marist Liufau Rosted At Girlfriend’s Draft Night

While the rest of the Cowboys players were on the first day of voluntary team practice, Marist Liufau ditched the idea. The linebacker went on to cheer for his girlfriend, Sonia Citron. When the Mystics were named to draft Sonia Citron, Liufau made sure to be her loudest cheerer.
However, all of that excitement was washed away during the draft callout.
ESPN reporter Holly Rowe humorously pointed out during a live interview that Citron’s draft placement surpassed Liufau’s in the league.
“Your boyfriend Marist is here. For the record, you got drafted higher than he did in the NFL. So shoutout to the girls,” Rowe said during the interview.

While Liufau’s NFL journey saw him drafted in the third round the previous year, her love interest surpassed him.
In addition to being present for Citron’s big moment, Liufau expressed his pride and support on social media. He shared a post with a goat as the caption.
