The rumors can now be put to rest as the New York Jets selected QB Zach Wilson with the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. And soon after that, it was Zach Wilson’s girlfriend, Abbey Gile, who was stealing the show.
In his final season playing for the BYU Cougars, Wilson threw for 3,692 yards and 33 touchdowns as a junior to help them finish 11-1. That, along with an excellent offseason and Pro Day, was enough to convince the Jets. They like what they saw and traded away 2018 third-overall-pick Sam Darnold in order to make room for Wilson.
Now, the big-time quarterback prospect is set to hit the Big Apple. And he may be taking a special someone with him.

After searching Instagram, we were able to find out that Abbey Gile was born on June 1, 2001. She grew up in Utah, where she competed professional in dance. And she was pretty darn good, too! In February 2019, her team won the Utah State Class 5A dance title.

After graduating from Brighton High School, Gile attended Utah Valley University in Orem, where she is currently enrolled.
Abbey Gile’s Family
Abbey is the daughter of Nicholle Gile and Dennis P. Gile. Her mother, Nicholle, is a graduate of the University of Utah. Her father Dennis, on the other hand, graduated from the University of Arizona. He is also the president of Elite Customs Exteriors.
Gile also has an athlete brother who played basketball at Brighton High School and graduated in 2016.
Life As Zach Wilson’s Girlfriend
It is not known exactly when the couple started dating. Based on their social media accounts, it was likely around August 2017, when Zach was still a teen at Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah. Zach posted his first photo of Abbey with the caption, “This Girl!” on August 17, 2017.
Just two days later on August 19, 2017, Gile posted a photo of the couple after one of Wilson’s games. It was captioned, “#1 on the field AND #1 in my heart.”
Since then, they two have continued to support each other through their Instagram accounts. And on Draft Day in Cleveland, it was Abbey who was spotted by the ESPN cameras alongside Zach as his name was called.
