To many fans’ surprise, this woman is 49 years old. Fans could hardly believe it after seeing her with Zach in the 2021 NFL Draft. But yet, she was born way back on August 8, 1973.
She is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, and has lived in Utah for most of her life. Lisa went to Hillcrest High School and then attended the University of Utah to get her Bachelor’s Degree.
As far as her career goes, she is involved in two main professions. She works as a professional chef and a personal trainer. Because of her rise to fame mothering Zach Wilson, she is also dabbling in a social media influencer career.
Lisa’s maiden name is Neeleman and she grew up in a big family. She is one of six siblings in her nuclear family.
However, she changed her last name to Wilson when she got married to Michael Wilson in 1997. They had six kids of their own, one of which grew up to be a professional quarterback for the New York Jets.
Zach Wilson’s Mom Gains Early Fame
The start of her fame was on the 2021 NFL Draft night when she attended the draft to see her son, Zach Wilson, get drafted by an NFL team.
At the time, Zach was one of the most anticipated draft prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft class. Several teams that were drafting early were in need of a quarterback. Many scouts thought that Wilson would be one of the first players taken off of the board because of it.
News started to stick that after Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson was likely going to be the next quarterback drafted by the Jets.
So, why did the Jets want him so badly? Because he had a great junior year at BYU.
Wilson improved his completion percentage by 11%, had over 1,600 more passing yards than his sophomore year, and dramatically improved his touchdown to turnover ratio.
In his sophomore year, he had 11 touchdown passes and nine interceptions. In his junior year, he had 33 touchdown passes and three interceptions.
What does this have to do with Zach Wilson’s mom? Well, all eyes were on Zach, as fans eagerly awaited the likely announcement of him being drafted by the Jets.
However, the fans had a reaction to seeing her with Zach. Many were astonished that this was his mother, and Lisa Wilson’s looks went viral. She gained tens of thousands of Instagram followers overnight.
Romantic Controversy

To clap back, Gile hinted that she was not the “real homie hopper” when comparing herself to Zach Wilson. Gile accused Zach Wilson of sleeping with his mom’s best friend in an Instagram post.
After that rumor started, it went viral, forcing both Lisa and Zach Wilson to respond to the allegations that Gile threw out against Zach.
On top of this, fans and the media went through extensive tactics to try and identify who this friend was. However, that information still appears to be unknown to the public.
For now, it appears that Lisa Wilson is moving on with her life, and she is a happily married woman. The Wilsons still appear to be close, but her friend that has been accused in this may be another story.
