
Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers are currently in the 2025 Stanley Cup Final, where they will face the Florida Panthers.
The Oilers defeated the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Final, with McDavid leading the way.
Things are not looking good for him or the team heading into Game One.
McDavid left Sunday’s Edmonton Oilers practice early after having a word with the training staff, TSN’s Ryan Rishaug reports.

McDavid, who led the team with three goals and tied for the lead with nine points in the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Stars, did not have any injury issues reported in the series.
Luckily, Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters after the practice session that McDavid has no major issues and will be good to go for Game 1.

Connor McDavid led his team to the Finals once again, scoring twice in Game 5’s 6-3 victory to help lead the team to their second consecutive Stanley Cup Final. As of right now, McDavid leads all skaters with 26 points in the playoffs.
In 2024, he was the winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy despite not winning the Stanley Cup, when he led all skaters with 42 points in 25 games.
Oilers Get Good News About Connor McDavid’s Injury Status

The Stanley Cup Final between the Oilers and Panthers starts on Wednesday in Edmonton.
Connor McDavid left practice early ahead of Game One.
After practice, Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch was asked about McDavid’s early exit, and he made clear that there’s nothing to worry about.
“No issues. He will be ready for Game 1,” Knoblauch told reporters Sunday.
That’s certainly good news for Oilers fans.
McDavid’s availability for Game 1 against the Florida Panthers will be critical.
