A Western Hockey League game between the Seattle Thunderbirds and Tri-City Americans was forced to be postponed this week after the Tri-City defenseman required medical attention following an on-ice fight.
Just one minute into the second period at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, a fight would break out between Thunderbirds’ Ashton Cumby and Americans’ Terrell Goldsmith.
That fight featured huge punches, but it ended terribly. Goldsmith’s helmet was knocked off, and he collapsed face-first onto the ice.
Goldsmith became unresponsive as some fans stated he began seizing.

Things were so bad that an ambulance was called, and a medical team rushed out on the ice.

Both teams were then sent to their locker rooms while Goldsmith was taken off the ice and taken to the ambulance.
The Western Hockey League announced the game was suspended due to the medical emergency and that it would be rescheduled at a later date.
Seattle led 2-0 at the time of the fight.
Tri-City Americans Provide Health Update On Terrell Goldsmith

The Tri-City Americans matchup with the Seattle Thunderbirds at the Toyota Center in Kennewick had to be postponed after a fight on the ice sent one player to the hospital.
A fight between Ashton Cumby and Terrell Goldsmith ended with Goldsmith on the ice. He was attended to by medical personnel before being transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
The team released an update on Goldsmith’s condition.
According to the team, he was alert and responsive upon arrival and is receiving further medical care.
In a post on Wednesday, Tri-City wrote, “Terrell Goldsmith remains in hospital this morning under observation. Upon arriving at the hospital last night, he was awake, responsive, and in good spirits. The Tri-City Americans appreciate the words of concern and support for Goldsmith. We will continue to update his status.”
