The Florida Panthers are once again on top of the ice hockey world.
The Panthers defeated the Edmonton Oilers for the second year in a row to win the Stanley Cup, clinching the championship with a 5-1 win in Tuesday night’s Game 6 at Amerant Bank Arena in South Florida.
The Panthers closed out the series. Sam Reinhart got things going with an unassisted goal in the first period. That was followed by a goal from Matthew Tkachuk, which pushed the lead to 2-0. Reinhart then scored the next three goals.
It was certainly a night to remember.
The Panthers are now the first team to win back-to-back titles since the Tampa Bay Lightning did so in 2020 and 2021.
Unfortunately, the Stanley Cup would also feel the wrath of the team.
Pictures after the victory showed that the Florida Panthers had wasted little time damaging the prized possession before it had a chance to leave the ice.

With a raucous home crowd chanting, “We want the Cup,” the Panthers jumped at the opportunity to win the Cup on home ice, and that is exactly what they did.
Will The NHL Replace The Florida Panthers’ Damaged Stanley Cup?

The Florida Panthers did it again by winning it all.
It’s the first back-to-back title since the Tampa Bay Lightning did it in 2020 and 2022. But something went awry during the celebration.
Photos have already surfaced showing visible cracks along the rim of the Stanley Cup’s bowl.
Unfortunately for them, the NHL does not replace the Stanley Cup if it gets damaged.
The Hockey Hall of Fame handles the repairs.
