New York Rangers superstar Artemi Panarin had to endure some excruciating pain before scoring the milestone 300th goal of his career on Wednesday night.
“Breadman” notched his 300th NHL goal in Sunday’s 8-5 home loss to the rival Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night. It was another somber night at MSG for the frustrated Blueshirts and their fans, with the loss to Philly serving as perhaps the final dagger in their postseason hopes.
During the game, Artemi Panarin was left with a gnarly cut around the mouth after taking a puck right to the face. Like your typical hockey player, however, Panarin shrugged the pain off like it was nothing and went about his business as usual:

Artemi Panarin finished with one goal and a minus-two rating in 17:45 of playing time against the Flyers. But with three straight losses, the Rangers are sure to miss the playoffs for the first time in four years.
With 79 points and only four games remaining, the Rangers can max out at 87 points. That means the Rangers must win their final four games and have the Montreal Canadiens (owners of the second wild card spot) lose each of their final four contests in regulation.

On top of that, the Blueshirts will need the New York Islanders, Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets (each have 79 points) to all lose another game in regulation. In other words, we’ll see them next season.
Artemi Panarin Has Been A Bright Spot For Rangers In Miserable 2024-25 Season

Almost nothing has gone right this year for the Rangers, who won the Presidents’ Trophy en route to an Eastern Conference Final appearance a year ago.
But Panarin has been a bright spot, with 35 goals and 84 points in 76 games. Though he’ll be 34 next October, Panarin hasn’t displayed any signs of slowing down and should help the Rangers re-emerge as a title contender next season.
