Simone Biles may no longer have an X account, but she is not entirely gone from social media.
The Seven-time Olympic gold medalist found herself in a fiery feud with Riley Gaines, a former standout college swimmer and vocal media personality at Outkick.
The initial exchange was ignited over a photo posted by the Minnesota State High School League that showcased its championship softball team, which includes star pitcher Marissa Rothenberger, a transgender athlete.
Biles went after Gaines, who replied to the team’s post on X, saying, “Comments off, lol. To be expected when your star player is a boy.”
Biles commented a few hours later, calling Gaines “truly sick” and “a sore loser.”
Even her supporters went after her because of her comments.
She apologized eventually, but then, weeks later, Biles deleted her X account entirely.

Riley Gaines Reacts To Simone Biles Deleting Her X Account

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has seemingly deleted her X account after becoming embroiled in a very public war of words with former swimmer turned political activist Riley Gaines over transgender women competing in women’s sports.
Biles later apologized for her comments, admitting that she shouldn’t have gotten “personal” with Gaines, before deleting her X account altogether.
Riley Gaines reacted to Biles’ departure from X, expressing disappointment.
“[Simone] has an incredibly unpopular and morally indefensible take; gets rightfully ridiculed for it; issues a groveling public apology after unrelenting backlash; deletes account to pretend it never happened. Sad to see such a phenom go down like this,” Gaines said.
