Lindsey Vonn has had a great following of her own. And she needs them during tough times.
The Olympic gold medalist took to her social media to share a profound personal loss with the passing of her beloved dog, Lucy.
This heartbreak comes just a week after a significant achievement in Vonn’s skiing comeback. She won a silver medal in the super-G event at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals in Sun Valley, Idaho.
Though it marked her first World Cup podium in seven years.
In her emotional tribute on Instagram, Vonn shared her deep love for Lucy. She had been a part of her life for nine years.
“Today my sweet, sweet Lucy left us. 9 years ago she came into my life, and from the very first moment until the very last, she brought so much light and love to me and everyone she met. We traveled the world together, skied, hiked, biked, explored, went down waterfalls, up in air balloons, to the Olympics… we went on SO many incredible adventures together, and created so many memories that I am beyond lucky to have shared with her. We even had our own TV show!” Vonn wrote.

It’s understandable for her to feel the deep sorrow due to her pet’s loss. It might sound like just another death to some, but those who have ever had a pet can really feel the pain.
