Beers and marathons aren’t things you’d typically mix as everything suggests they don’t go well together. However, a San Diego resident attempted to drink a beer per mile during a a recent 26-mile event.
The dude, who goes by Preston Lopez on TikTok, was looking to down 26 beverages in 26 miles, which would probably be too much for most people under normal circumstances. It appears he may have actually succeeded if not for all the foam, something he didn’t take into consideration when he hatched his half-brewed plan.
The video below shows Lopez stopping early in the race to buy beers, which he unfortunately had to carry himself and replenish once he ran out.
Things went well enough for the first five miles as he was holding a 10-minute pace, having drunk five lagers. The bloating kicked in after that, and two miles later, he had to figure out how to run while holding beers that probably felt like dumbbells by then.
Check him out in the clip below:

A Camelback would have probably come in handy. Still, folks online appreciated the effort, some even hailing it heroic.
“Lmfao bro this is insane,” someone commented.
“This is real athleticism,” another declared.
“Not all heroes wear capes,” someone else said.
“Elite male performance,” a user wrote.
“What a unit,” wrote another.
Preston Lopez didn’t reach his target of 26 beers but managed to finish the marathon. He consumed 14 beers, 12 shy of the mark, and crossed the 26.2-mile checkpoint in five hours and 44 minutes.
To be completely honest, we aren’t sure this wasn’t parody, but it looked legit enough.
