A Wimbledon journalist is taking heat for his awkward and inappropriate question to Cam Norrie this weekend.
Norrie enjoyed a straight-sets win over Matteo Bellucci on Friday before speaking to reporters. While there was plenty to take from his victory, his post-game presser was overshadowed by a bizarre question, with a certain journo trying to get a scoop on Emma Radacanu’s private life.
“Apart from everyone here loving tennis, some of the gossip has been about who Emma Raducanu is dating,” the reporter asked. “Can I ask if you’re dating her? Can we get to the bottom of this please?”
That’s despite Norrie being in a relationship with Louise Jacob.
Perhaps taken aback, he asked, “Sorry?”
“I’m trying to find out who’s dating Emma Raducanu,” the reporter explained. “It seems to be going around all the men’s singles. I was wondering if you’re dating her, please?”
“I’m not [dating Raducanu]. No. You can ask her though,” Norrie replied.

Fans Want Reporter Gone After He Grills Cam Norrie
The line of questioning irked tennis fans, who suggested that the reporter should be banned, with some claiming that Cam Norrie took it easy on him.
“@Wimbledon ban this reporter from every Wimbledon. Joke of a question,” a comment read.
“Cam was too polite, that deserved a big push back for the journalist,” someone wrote.
“These people should not be allowed back in the pressers what’s the relevance to the question it just embarrasses Norrie pathetic,” someone else remarked.
“That’s the creepiest question to be asked…if I were in the player’s place I wouldn’t be that diplomatic,” a user claimed.
There seems to be plenty of interest in Emma Radacanu’s dating status. A week ago, she was asked whether she was in a relationship with Carlos Alcaraz. She said they were just “good friends.”
Of course, everyone wants to know what’s up with Emma, but reporters questioning athletes about it at press conferences is a bit much.
