John McEnroe is refusing to walk back on what he said about Donald Trump during a recent tennis game.
McEnroe called what turned out to be a classic between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner on Sunday afternoon, with the former winning a five-set duel in the 2025 French Open final to defend his title in the longest-ever Roland Garros final.
The match lasted five hours and 29 minutes, as Alcaraz rallied from two sets down to win 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6 and saved three match points in the fourth set to set up a decider, which he won 10-2.
John McEnroe Has No Regrets Over What He Said About Donald Trump

McEnroe previously caused a stir with a comment referencing Trump during a previous French Open match, comparing Novak Djokovic’s cerebral attributes to those of the POTUS.
“Donald Trump got re-elected. You know why? He got in the head of his opponents,” he said on the air.
Some people were displeased with the comparison.

As of Sunday, McEnroe was standing by his comment.
Despite the comment, McEnroe and Donald Trump aren’t all that cozy, and the tennis legend does not support him. He voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016.
It doesn’t appear he regrets what he said about Trump during that previous contest, but he will quickly let you know that he’s no fan of the President.
