Angel Reese has made a name for herself on the WNBA court, but this time, it was all about her brother, who is little known to her fans. But her reaction said it all about him.
After years of grinding in college hoops, Julian “Juju” Reese is finally getting his shot. The former Maryland Terrapins big man is heading to the NBA Summer League with none other than the Los Angeles Lakers. And when Angel got the news, she let her excitement fly with just four words on X: “OPPORTUNITY. COME ON JU.” It was short. It was loud. And it came straight from the heart.
Family Support, Fan Buzz, And Big Dreams

Julian’s jump to the pros comes after four solid seasons with Maryland. He started 102 of 134 games and averaged 12.8 points and 8.6 boards over his last three years. He also became just the second player in program history to notch both 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. His final season saw Maryland punch a ticket to the Sweet 16, their first since 2016.
The Lakers announced that Reese will join their Summer League roster. From there, he’ll have a chance to fight for a spot in training camp or even land a two-way contract.

Naturally, Angel wasn’t the only one thrilled. Their mother chimed in online, and Maryland fans didn’t hold back either.

Congrats to the young bull. He close to 6'10 defends, can be a double double machine, great effort, can do alot of things. Height & mobility is what the Lakers lack!

One hopeful voice simply said, “I hope he gets some game time.”

Reese’s mix of length, hustle, and grit caught the attention of Lakers executives, and the fanbase is already dreaming big. At 6-foot-9 with quick feet and soft hands, he brings the kind of rebounding and interior defense the Lakers have lacked.
The Reese family has now produced two professional ballers. Angel is busy building her WNBA legacy, and now Juju is chasing his NBA dreams in purple and gold.
Where it goes from here? That’s up to him. But his big sister will be cheering every step of the way for sure.
