Angel Reese didn’t just pull up to Chicago to hoop, she came to leave a mark. And not just with buckets. This week, the rising WNBA star proved that her vision stretches well beyond the nets.
In a move that’s already stirring hearts across the city, Reese unveiled something that doesn’t show up in stat sheets, two brand-new basketball courts right on Oakwood Beach.
Built in partnership with Cash App, “Angel’s Court” is more than a local hangout spot. It’s a love letter to the city she now calls home, and a blueprint for how athletes can lift up the communities they play for.
A Court With A Purpose
“I’m so proud to partner with Cash App to give back to the city I’ve fallen in love with, in such a meaningful way,” Reese said in a press release. “This court is more than just a place to hoop, it’s a space where girls can see what’s possible for them on and off the court.”
The courts are already open to the public, offering a space for the community to gather and play. Catherine Ferdon, Chief Marketing Officer at Cash App, praised Reese for living out the values the company supports.
