The Indiana Fever has shed some players from their roster after their most recent preseason game.
The team announced on Monday, May 5, that it has waived forward Jillian Alleyne and guard Bree Hall.
Alleyne and Hall sat out Saturday’s overtime win, but both played in Sunday’s 64-point win in Iowa. The Fever announced they signed Alleyne to a training camp contract on March 24, while Hall was selected in the WNBA Draft last month.
The WNBA preseason presents an opportunity for many rookies and otherwise, unproven professional players to show teams that they’re worth a roster spot, but these two players did not show enough to warrant keeping them on the squad.
South Carolina Gamecocks guard Bree Hall, the 20th overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, hopes to find another team to take a chance on her before making the decision to go overseas.
Alleyne could see herself returning overseas. She most recently played the 2024-25 season with Turkey’s Tarsus Belediyesi Mersin, where she averaged 18.6 points, 13.8 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game.

Like Hall, she was also drafted No. 20 overall by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2016 WNBA Draft. She later played for the Minnesota Lynx and Washington Mystics during the 2019 and 2021 seasons. She also played three seasons in Israel.
The Indiana Fever has a stacked squad, with Caitlin Clark being the most notable.

As she enters her second season in the WNBA, there are talks of Caitlin Clark leading the Fever to the promised land.
In one of the best WNBA Finals ever, the New York Liberty won the first championship in franchise history by defeating the Minnesota Lynx in five games.
The Liberty has been proclaimed the favorite to defend their throne, but other teams are on their heels. Up next are the runner-up Lynx and the 2022 and 2023 champion Aces.
Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are the league’s best young team. They made it to the playoffs last season for the first time since 2016.
The team has an outside chance to win it all.
