Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White didn’t hold back on the WNBA officials following Saturday’s controversial ending and loss to the New York Liberty on Saturday afternoon.
Stephanie White’s Fever were trailing the visitors 90-88 with 2.9 seconds remaining. They had an inbound pass in New York territory with a chance to win the game or force overtime, but a controversial no-call against Natasha Cloud on Caitlin Clark allowed the Liberty to hold on for a close win:

One of the top WNBA storylines last year was the number of obvious fouls on Clark that the officials missed. But to miss a call that obvious with the game on the line, understandably, drew the ire of White.
Speaking to reporters after the loss, Stephanie White wasted no time criticizing the officials. She accused them of showing “disrespect” toward the Fever and called it “disappointing” that the calls aren’t balanced:
“I thought she [Caitlin] got fouled. I think it’s pretty egregious, what’s happening to us the last two games. The disrespect [by the referees] for our team, right now, has been pretty unbelievable. So it’s disappointing that it doesn’t go both ways, or it hasn’t gone both ways. But we also can’t allow that to consume us…We gotta be able to play through that.”

The Fever split a home-and-home with the Atlanta Dream, but missed out on the chance to move to 3-1 with their heartbreaking defeat. They’ll look to get back above .500 when they visit the Washington Mystics on Wednesday.
Stephanie White & Fever Are Entitled To Being Frustrated

If we’re being honest, top NBA superstars like LeBron James have always gotten favorable calls by the officials. It’s surprising that WNBA officials aren’t doing their job in protecting Caitiln Clark, who is taking way too many unfair hits and shots.
