Jemele Hill and Riley Gaines got into it online after Brittney Griner was caught on camera supposedly trash-talking Caitlin Clark after fouling out against the Indiana Fever on Thursday.
Griner was booted from the game after a foul on Natasha Howard and was seen complaining on the bench.
Lip readers claimed she referred to Clark as a “f**king white girl,” prompting a reaction from Gaines, who tweeted “Brittney Griner appeared to call Caitlin Clark “trash” and a “f***ing white girl” after fouling out last night,” wrote Gaines on X. “Just a reminder: this is who we traded for the Russian Merchant of Death.”
Hill came across the tweet and had some words for Gaines, claiming Griner said “f**king wack call” and not “f**king white girl” as she tore into the activist.
“I get that your whole personality is caught up in stuff like this, so you don’t care about spreading misinformation,” wrote Hill. “1) the foul call made on her had nothing to do with Caitlin Clark. It was because she fouled Natasha Howard. 2) She clearly says “trash” and “f*cking WACK CALL” But carry on with your grifting a**.”

Gaines responded but tried changing the subject, asking Hill whether men belong in women’s sports.
“I didn’t ask for the platform I have,” she wrote. “I simply said men in women’s sports is wrong which you, as a self-proclaimed women’s sports enthusiast, have yet to do. So I’ll ask directly, do men belong in women’s sports? Silence is an answer btw.”
Hill then advised her to buy Lia Thomas some flowers after noting that Gaines couldn’t offer a proper response, which is why she tried to pivot.
“So I called you out on your obvious bullsh*t and because you have no response, you shift back into the grift that made you popular,” she replied. “Go buy Lia Thomas some flowers and thank her for you becoming a media figure.”
As for Brittney Griner, Hill is likely right about her comments, given that Caitlin Clark had nothing to do with the play that led to her fouling out.
It would have helped if she were Mic’d up.
