The Indiana Fever are trying their best to keep their heads above water without Caitlin Clark, and Kelsey Mitchell has been stepping up to ensure they can do that.
Caitlin Clark has missed the last four Indiana Fever games due to a quad strain. She is expected to be re-evaluated this weekend and could potentially return for the game against the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday.
Clark’s absence has been felt by the Fever, which has gone 1-2 in her absence.
Aside from Kelsey Mitchell, the team also needs Lexie Hull to step it up.
Following two straight losses without Caitlin, the Fever finally secured a victory after the team defeated the Washington Mystics at home, 85-76.
The Indiana Fever used a decisive 31-point third quarter to defeat the Washington Mystics 85-76 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on June 3. Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 24 points, matching her season high, as Indiana ended a three-game skid.
Lexie Hull fueled the run with 12 of her 14 points during the period, including two of Indiana’s franchise-record 11 three-pointers.

After the game, it was time to talk to reporters.
Lexie Hull Fights Back Laughter Over What Kelsey Mitchell Said

During the postgame interview a few days ago, Indiana Fever star Kelsey Mitchell certainly did not watch her words.
While speaking on the Mystics, she claimed star player Brittney Sykes played well but described it in a peculiar way.
“I think Brittney Sykes and her team did an unbelievable job of trying to go down our throat down the stretch of that game.”
