Caitlin Clark is on a mission to prove she’s no softie this season.
Having spent more time in the gym during the offseason, the Indiana Fever point guard has gone into year two with notable aggression.
She wasted no time setting off controversy with a hard foul on rival Angel Reese in her first game of the current campaign, and Thursday night’s fixture against the Atlanta Dream saw her involved in some more drama.
The former Iowa star got into it with ATL’s Rhyne Howard, who bumped her in the backcourt near the end of the first quarter, leading to a heated exchange of words. Clark is believed to have told Howard she isn’t afraid of her at one point.
The shooting guard picked up a foul on the play, but that would hardly be all.
She had some strong words for Clark while the teams were getting off the floor at halftime, but Clark shut her down with a cheeky thumbs up and a smile to suggest that her words had fallen on deaf ears.

Caitlin Clark Helps Indiana To A Vengeful Win Against Atlanta

Clark and the Fever came out on top at the end of the hotly contested affair, beating the Dream 81-76 to avenge a prior 90-91 loss earlier in the week.
The Indiana guard wasn’t her spectacular self as she scored just 11 points, adding six assists and four rebounds. But her contribution left the Fever in the win column at the end of the night.
The Fever will return to action this Saturday night with a game against the New York Liberty.
