Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham have quickly become fond of each other following the latter’s joining the Indiana Fever in the offseason. And they seem to be bent on keeping the more-than-friends rumors alive.
The Fever are having a decent season under first-year head coach Stephanie White and also seem the better for Cunningham’s involvement.
The team hasn’t missed a beat in Clark’s absence, winning three games on the bounce while she remains sidelined with a groin injury, including the Commissioner’s Cup final.
Caitlin has missed four games with this latest injury, missing nine in total after previously sitting out five straight contests with a quad issue.
The point guard has been participating in certain practice drills as she ramps up her recovery and works toward a return. But she has already been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks.

“Love this hairstyle,” Clark quipped in a post.

Cunningham has been made to feel right at home with the Fever after coming in from a previous stint with the Phoenix Mercury, where she made a name as one of the most effective two-way guards in the WNBA.
She’s averaging 5.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game so far and has also quickly become a fan favorite in Indy. Of course, this is more than can be said for places like Detroit and Cleveland, as she recently suggested that the cities aren’t that great for WNBA teams following news of the league’s expansion plans.
Clark, meanwhile, has registered averages of 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game.
