Paige Bueckers is less than an hour away from hearing her name called at the WNBA Draft.
And while there are still a lot of questions regarding which elite college players will be drafted when and by whom, the Dallas Wings’ No. 1 overall selection is all but certain.
The UConn Huskies superstar guard has long been tabbed as the pick for the No. 1 overall spot as Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark was one season ago.
Many believe Bueckers to be a generational talent on the court, which she further proved by UConn winning the 2025 NCAA national championship.
Paige Bueckers was among many women who showed off their outfits before the draft started in New York.

Paige Bueckers Ended Rumors About Where She Wanted To Be Drafted

Paige Bueckers can start envisioning WNBA hoops in Texas as soon as tonight.
That future is almost a certainty after the ping pong balls worked in the Dallas Wings’ favor in the 2024 WNBA draft lottery.
After Dallas won the pick, there were many rumors that the UConn superstar might pull an Eli Manning and force the No. 1 pick holders to trade her somewhere else.
Despite that, Bueckers would refute reports that she doesn’t want to play for the Dallas Wings.
“The reports are the reports,” Bueckers told Front Office Sports.
“People write stories, and it’s whatever. Honestly, I’m not really worried about that at the moment. I’m just worried about being here, being present with the team, and trying to get better every single day. So whatever the future may hold, it’s only in God’s hands.”
