Reese is one of the most polarizing players in the WNBA, thanks to her outspoken ways and rivalry with Caitlin Clark, the biggest star in the league. So as you would expect, many basketball fans were baffled and angry over news of Reese’s shoe deal:

Tell us how you really feel, Angel Reese critics.
The No. 7 pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft briefly set the single-season record for rebounds last year with 446, breaking the record that Sylvia Fowles set in 2018. Reese suffered a season-ending wrist injury, however, and Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson wound up breaking the record with 451.
In her rookie season, Reese averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Reese shot 39.1 percent from the field, but that number has dropped to 31.0 through Chicago’s first four games of 2025.
