It’s barely been a week into the WNBA season, and Sophie Cunningham is already turning heads for her game and fashion choices. The Indiana Fever guard, known for her bold tunnel fits, stepped out for Saturday’s home opener in a black see-through top and high heels. The problem? She wore the exact same outfit just days earlier.
Fever fans and social media users didn’t let it slide. For a player who recently promised to bring “spicy” looks all season long, repeating a full outfit this early drew more side-eyes than praise. The outfit in question made its second appearance before the Fever’s highly anticipated matchup against the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Questions Rise Over Wardrobe Repeat

Just last week, Cunningham teased fans by telling The Spun that she had several daring looks planned for this season. “I do plan ahead, so my outfits are going to be fun and spicy,” she said. “We have a lot of eyes on our game. I’ll continue to grow my brand with the platform I’ve been given.” But planning ahead and showing up in the same outfit a week later? Fans noticed the contradiction.

It’s not like Cunningham didn’t have time to prep. She missed the season opener due to an ankle injury and used the spotlight to show off her tunnel style instead. That move backfired when fans recognized the repeated fit, calling her out online for “recycling” her look. Even with the heels and sheer top pulling focus, many expected more variety, especially from a player who is building her off-court brand.
Cunningham made her Fever debut Thursday night against the New York Liberty, finally getting her first minutes after sitting out the first two games. She dropped nine points, pulled down six boards, and added three assists. On the court, she looked sharp and ready. Off the court, though, some followers are already questioning the “spicy” wardrobe rollout.

Fever teammate Lexie Hull praised Cunningham for her energy and impact on the court, saying, “She made some big plays down the stretch.” But as far as her style game goes, fans are clearly expecting more.
Cunningham’s early play shows promise, but if she’s looking to grow her brand, she might want to check her closet before the next tunnel walk.
