More details have emerged on the status of Hulk Hogan following a false rumor that the WWE Hall of Famer was on his deathbed.
On Wednesday morning, well-known Tampa Bay radio host Bubba the Love Sponge reported that Hulk Hogan was in the hospital and that it wasn’t looking “good.” Bubba claimed that Hogan’s family members were told to fly in and say their goodbyes to him, and that he “might not make it.”

TMZ clarified soon after that the 71-year-old is just fine and not on his “deathbed” whatsoever.
In another update, Us Weekly reports that Hulk Hogan recently underwent heart surgery and is recovering well. A source told the outlet that The Hulkster “had pretty serious heart surgery a few weeks ago,” and that “it wasn’t a near-death thing.”
Hogan, who turns 72 in August, has had several health issues since he wrestled his final match in 2012, claiming to have undergone 25 surgeries since 2014. This includes 10 back procedures and surgeries to replace both of his hips and knees.
The Hulkster continues to make occasional appearances for WWE in his post-wrestling endeavors. He’s also traveled around the country to promote his new beer, “Real American Beer.”

Hulk Hogan’s Wrestling Career Concluded In 2012

Hogan wrestled his final match for TNA in 2012, a house show in Manchester, England. Hogan lost his last televised match against fellow Hall of Famer Sting at the 2011 Bound for Glory pay-per-view.
The Hulkster was vocal about his desire to wrestle one final match in WWE, but that’s obviously never going to happen given his age and concerning injury history.
Hogan’s final WWE match was at the SummerSlam 2006 pay-per-view, where he defeated Randy Orton in a singles bout. Orton, of course, has gone on to become one of the greatest wrestlers of the 21st century.
