Former WWE superstar Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, wants to bring back his Hall of Fame gimmick for a showdown with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Glenn Jacobs spent over two decades with the WWE before transitioning from a full-time in-ring career into politics. Jacobs, a Republican, defeated Democrat Linda Haney in the 2018 election to assume office.
In a recent appearance on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast, Walz made headlines when he said he could kick the a** of most Donald Trump supporters. Kamala Harris and Walz lost the 2024 presidential election to Trump and J.D. Vance:
“I think I could kick most of their a*s. I know I can outrun them. I don’t know if we’re going to fall into that place where we, okay, we challenge you to, you know, a WWE fight here, type of thing.”
Jacobs, a vocal supporter of President Trump, took to X/Twitter and challenged Walz to a charity wrestling match. The WWE Hall of Famer offered to split the gate for charitable causes, with Jacobs offering a $10,000 donation:
All joking aside, @GovTimWalz, let's put our money where our mouth is…in a charity wrestling match. We'll split the gate 50/50 between our chosen organizations. I'll kick things off myself with a $10,000 donation. What do you say? #TennesseeWalz#LetsDance pic.twitter.com/2VV6j4RYs2

As entertaining as this would be for countless fans, it’s hard to imagine Walz saying yes to this. Jacobs/Kane has nearly 30 years of wrestling experience, not to mention that he’s nearly seven feet in height (IMDB lists him at 6-foot-8).

To even the playing field, maybe Kane should ask Walz to pick another wrestling legend to fight on his behalf. Why not a fellow Hall of Famer like Dave Bautista (Batista in WWE), Mick Foley or Kevin Nash? All three have been critical of Trump and endorsed his opponents in the presidential elections.
Glenn Jacobs Last Wrestled In WWE Four Years Ago

Though Jacobs has a busy schedule as the mayor of Knox County, he has made the odd appearance on WWE programming when time has allowed it.
Kane’s last wrestling match, however, took place four years ago at the 2021 Royal Rumble pay-per-view. He was eliminated by Damian Priest in the bout that was won by fellow Hall of Famer Edge.
