As this point, it seems that Johnny Manziel has more lives than a cat.
After being released by the Cleveland Browns in 2016 after selecting him with the 22nd pick overall in the 2014 draft, Manziel took his talents to Canada where he would initially sign with the Tiger-Cats, but get traded to the Montreal Alouettes where he would last less than one season before he got barred from the league for unspecified violations of his contract.
Soon after, the former Heisman winner headed to the Alliance of American Football League where he played two weeks with the Memphis Express before the league folded and shutdown.
The often troubled QB just recently stated he wanted to be called John Manziel from now on, which might be on his jersey for his new team in a new league.
XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck did not rule out the possibility of Manziel bringing his talent to the revival of the popular football league:
“If he is able to meet our standards and if our coaches think he’s one of the top quarterbacks out there that can help us,” Luck said regarding whether Manziel may find work in the XFL. “Certainly we have no reason not to believe he couldn’t be in the mix. But again it’s really up to our coaches in terms of the quarterbacks they wanna take a look at.”
