Geno Smith played college football for West Virginia University from 2009-2012 where he was named First-team All-Big East in 2011 and was the 2012 Orange Bowl MVP. He was selected 39th overall in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Jets. He had two inconsistent seasons as the Jets’ starting quarterback and eventually lost his position.
He then spent time as a backup quarterback for the New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers, and the Seattle Seahawks. Head coach Pete Carrol unexpectedly announced Smith as the Seahawks’ starter in 2022, and he ended up leading the NFL in completion percentage.
