The University of Tennessee is a public research university in Knoxville, Tennessee. The school’s motto is You will know the truth and the truth shall set you free”, and they have around 31,000 students. The University of Tennessee is an NCAA division 1 school and part of the SEC. Their athletics go by the nickname the “Volunteers” and “Lady Volunteers”, and their mascot is Smokey X. Their women’s basketball team has won eight NCAA Division 1 titles, putting them second in the nation to Connecticut. They were previously coached by the late Pat Summitt, the all-time most-winningest basketball coach in NCAA history.
