Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green is expected to be sidelined 6-8 weeks with torn ligaments in his left ankle after he went down with an injury during practice last week.
Some were quick to blame the field conditions at Dayton’s Welcome Stadium for Green’s latest injury woes.
Tyler Boyd was one of them.
The Bengals WR blamed the field conditions at Dayton’s Welcome Stadium for Green’s latest injury woes.
Via Cincinnati Enquirer:
“Yeah, the turf was terrible,” Boyd told the Cincinnati Enquirer. “The turf was terrible. I couldn’t run any routes out there. I’m falling all over the ground. It was bad. It was rocks, pebbles out there. Man, it was somewhere we shouldn’t have been. I’m not trying to say any excuses, but it is what it is.”
Green is in the final season of a 4-year, $60 million contract with the Bengals.
Tyler Boyd will be looked on to carry the load if Green isn’t ready for Week 1. He has all the incentives to do so after he signed a four-year contract extension worth $43 million last week. Boyd hauled in 76 catches, 1,028 yards and seven touchdowns during the 2018 season.
