Jadeveon Clowney Reportedly Prefers A Trade To The Eagles or Seahawks
The rumor mill on Jadeveon Clowney’s next potential destination gets hotter and hotter everyday. The only for sure thing that is going to happen is that the Houston Texans defensive end will not play another game with his current team.
Things got crazy on Tuesday after he suddenly fired his agent and told the Texans there are two teams he wants to be traded to. The Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins.
Clowney, who has been holding out after Houston placed the franchise tag on him, may want to go to those destinations, but the Texans don’t actually have to adhere to his demands.
They reportedly have had lengthy discussions with the Dolphins and Clowney recently met with head coach Brian Flores. The Dolphins have more cap flexibility to get a long-term deal done.
According to the Houston Chronicle‘s Aaron Wilson, Clowney wants to play for a Super Bowl contender, and the Eagles and Seahawks represent that right now.
The Pro Bowl pass-rusher still hasn’t signed his franchise tender, valued at $15.967 million. He holds all of the leverage right now because of that.
