Horrible news in the baseball world when it was announced that Chris Duncan had passed away at age 38 following a battle with brain cancer.

The news was passed down during the Cardinals game on Friday.

It was just back in January when the Cardinals asked fans to pray for the former world champion.

The 38-year-old battled with the dreaded disease through last year as well, taking a leave of absence from his broadcasting duties with the team.

His breakout season in the league came in 2006 when he hit .293 with 22 homers and leading the Cardinals to a World Series title.
