As Vontaze Burfict prepares to appeal his 12-game suspension for a helmet-to-helmet hit against Colts tight end Jack doyle, the league actually discovered a second illegal helmet-to-helmet hit during that same game.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports the league sent the Oakland Raiders linebacker a letter this week indicating it had found another hit and that it will be included against him during his appeal.
In the second quarter of the game against the Colts — Burfict could be seen launching and blasting Colts’ RB Nyheim Hines who was well away from the play at the time.
The hit against Doyle would come later and Burfict would be ejected from the game. His agent told Josina Anderson of ESPN that the appeal will take place next Tuesday.
