Seattle Storm’s Breanna Stewart Goes Off About Lack of Coverage & Disrespect For WNBA Finals (TWEET)
Breanna Stewart was not a happy woman.
On Thursday, the Washington Mystics and Connecticut Sun were set to meet for Game 5 of the WNBA Finals. A winner take all, but you wouldn’t know it unless you just happened to stumble upon it due to the lack of coverage it garnered.
Despite the fact that it was the final game of the WNBA season, the buzz surrounding the game did not come close to matching several other sporting events last night, and that included Game 5 of the ALDS between the Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays as well as the “Thursday Night Football” game between the New England Patriots and New York Giants.
The Seattle Storm star didn’t mention those games, but rather the NBA preseason that was being talked about just minutes before the big WNBA game.
Fans reacted like so:
The Washington Mystics beat the Connecticut Sun 89-78 to win their first championship.
