The Seattle Seahawks are finally speaking out on the domestic violence arrest of Chad Wheeler.

The free agent offensive tackle was arrested after he allegedly choked his girlfriend unconscious after she refused to bow to him. He then met with surprise after she woke up, saying, “Wow, you’re still alive?”

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the NFL is reviewing the incident and that he won’t be coming back with the team in 2021 either.

Sometime later, the Seahawks released a lengthy statement on the former player:

Wheeler started 19 of 27 games after going undrafted in 2017 and signing with the Giants. He was waived by the Giants before the 2019 season and joined the Seahawks practice squad, but did not until this past season.

Wheeler appeared in five games for the Seahawks.
