Miami Dolphins Expected To Be In Mix To Trade For Deshaun Watson
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports the Dolphins “expect to be in the mix to acquire Watson if the Texans change their stance and look to trade their disgruntled QB.
Jackson’s source said Miami did not indicate what they believe their chances are of landing Watson or what they would be willing to offer in return for him. Previous reports would have you thinking that the Texans want multiple first-round draft picks as well as a young QB to be sent back in return.
The Dolphins will have two first-round picks (they also have the 18th pick) and two second-round picks in the draft. It would likely take all of that as well as moving Tua Tagovailoa to Houston to get Watson.
If nothing changes, then Jackson says Miami still sees “considerable potential” in Tua Tagovailoa and they would “very, very likely” stick with him as their starter in 2021.
The Texans have maintained that they have no interest in trading Watson, who signed an extension just last year.
The 25-year-old for 4,823 yards with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions during the 2020 season.
