Spencer Rattler is on his way out.
Less than 24 hours after Lincoln Riley left the program, Spencer Rattler decided to take his talents elsewhere.
On Monday, he took to Twitter and dropped a statement of his intentions of entering the transfer portal.
“Sooner Nation, thank you for allowing me to be a student-athlete at this prestigious institution,” Rattler said in a statement on Twitter. “Thank you to every teammate and coach these last three seasons. We won several games together and made memories that I will cherish forever.
“… At this time, I would like to announce that I have decided to enter the transfer portal to continue my academic and athletic career. Thank you again, Oklahoma. I will miss you.”
The former 5-star quarterback was replaced by Caleb Williams against Texas this year, leading many to speculate that his time at OU would be done at the conclusion of this season.
In 2021, Rattler recorded 1,483 yards with a 74.9% forward on 187 pass attempts.
Rattler finishes his OU career with 4,595 passing yards, 40 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He finished 15-2 as the starter at Oklahoma, winning last year’s Big 12 Championship for the Sooners.
