Julian Edelman is not hurting for money, but $100K is $100K.
The former New England Patriots’ wide receiver was so confident on his former team’s odds, that he just an insane $100,000 bet that they as well as the Tampa Bay Bucs would meet in the Super Bowl.
If Patriots coach Bill Belichick and Tampa Bay quarterback Tom Brady were to have met in the Super Bowl, Edelman would’ve turned $100,000 into $545,000.
As we saw on Saturday night, the Patriots got eliminated when the Bills dropped 47 points on them and ran them out of Highmark Stadium. Mac Jones struggled against Buffalo’s defense and finished with 232 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw two costly interceptions.
This 30-point loss is the worst playoff loss of Bill Belichick’s tenure as New England’s head coach.
Edelman posted a meme to his Twitter account to react:
The 35-year-old wide receiver lived an entire career with the New England Patriots until now. He’s been with the team since he was drafted back in 2009 and won three Super Bowls.
Edelman retired back in 2020, ending his career with a total 620 receptions for 6,822 yards and 36 touchdowns.
