After the Cleveland Browns traded for Deshaun Watson and gave him a mega-contract, the reaction has been mixed from their fan base, given the sexual misconduct allegations levied against him.
WWE superstar The Miz has stressed that he will still be a Cleveland Browns fan, despite his favorite team having signed Deshaun Watson back in March.
In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, the 41-year-old says he’s been cheering for the Browns his whole life and that won’t be changing, but there are just some things he cannot do.
“Yeah, I’m still a Cleveland Browns fan,” the 41-year-old said. “But you’re not going to see me wearing a Watson jersey.”
Despite the allegations, the Browns offered Watson a fully guaranteed $230 million dollar contract after sending three first-round picks, a third-rounder, and a fourth-rounder to the Houston Texans in exchange for the talented quarterback and a fifth-rounder.
Meanwhile, Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski declined to comment on the matter during his team’s practice on Wednesday.
“I think for me, I’m going to be respectful of the investigation, of the legal proceedings and let that play out,” he told reporters.
