For several weeks now, Major League Baseball fans have been looking for any kind sign that the 2020 baseball season will be able to start anytime in the near future.
If you’re one of those fans, then this next bit of news will excite you.
Former MLB player Trevor Plouffe took to Twitter on Monday and actually confirmed a start date for the 2020 season.
A three week Spring Training followed by a July 1st start date sounds pretty damn good right about now. Keep in mind, however, this is just a rumor by a former MLB player.
Plouffe, who played nine seasons in the majors, suited up for multiple teams that include the Minnesota Twins, the Oakland Athletics, Tampa Bay Rays, and Philadelphia Phillies.
Plouffe had 710 hits, 364 runs scored, 106 homers, 379 RBI, and 12 stolen bases during his career.
