
It still may be way too early for Team USA to panic just ahead of the FIBA World Cup in China, but the team is likely lacking on confidence after news broke that they faced off in a tune-up scrimmage at the Los Angeles Lakers’ UCLA Health Training Center against G-League talent and got beat.
In fact, the most accomplished player on the team was John Jenkins, who is a former Vanderbilt sharpshooter who averaged 5.0 points per game in five career NBA season with five different teams. Yeah, that’s how bad this loss was.
A bunch of players pulled out of playing for the team, but the squad still has legitimate NBA players coached by a Hall of Famer in Gregg Popovich.
