In the midst of the shocking news of Kobe being killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday morning, there was a report about Rick Fox also being on that flight and being killed as well.
Nobody knew where the original report came from but it spread like wild fire. As it turned out, Fox was just fine and was nowhere near Kobe on that day.
On Tuesday, Inside The NBA held a special where former teammates and friends talked about the good times with Kobe and it led to Kenny Smith stating how he texted Rick Fox to respond to him amid rumors of him being dead.
Once he got that text back, he lost control of his emotions and called out the media for trying to race to be first to break news instead of verifying it first
