It took way too long for this actually happen, but at least the Titans finally did the rigth thing.
Legendary Titans quarterback Steve McNair’s No. 9 Jersey was retired on Sunday during halftime of the team’s home opener against the Indianapolis Colts.
That moment became even more special when fans looked into the sky and noticed that a cloud was shaped like the number 9 staring down at the field.
Mcnair saw his life tragically taken away from him back in 2009 when a a young woman, Sahel “Jenni” Kazemi, killed him in a murder-suicide.
McNair won the NFL co-MVP Award in 2003 and passed for more than 31,000 yards in his career.
Much like his former teammate, Eddie Geroge also had his jersey retired on Sunday.
The pair played together for eight seasons, coming just one yard short of winning Super Bowl XXXIV.
