The Seahawks and Ravens organizations are mourning the death of Alex Collins, a beloved teammate and fan favorite during his tenure with both teams.
Alex Collins, a former NFL running back who played for the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens between 2016 and 2021, was only 28-years-old when his life came to a shocking end. Collins was killed in a motorcycle accident over the weekend.
Collins was driving eastbound on his motorcycle when Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives said a woman driving a Chevrolet Suburban turned from the westbound lanes, causing both vehicles to collide. Collins was pronounced dead at the scene.
Collins was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He played for the team for one season before he headed off to the Ravens for two years. After a year off, he came back to Seattle for two more seasons. He most recently played for the Memphis Showboats of the USFL.
Just days before his death, it appears he was trying to get back into the NFL as his liked like on X proved.
He liked a comment about him working out all summer and should be signed.
Alex Collins, the former Arkansas running back, went on to play five seasons in the NFL.
One year, he led Baltimore with 973 yards rushing and six touchdowns. In 2018, Collins struggled to match the same success and was placed on injured reserve in December because of a foot injury. Baltimore released him four months later after he was charged with gun and drug violations.
In his NFL career, Collins recorded 1,997 rushing yards on 483 carries and scored 19 total touchdowns.
