Punching football players in the helmet has to be one of the dumbest things an athlete can do, and yet, it still happens.
On Sunday, Chicago bears defensive lineman Bilal Nichols received an early shower after he was caught punching Bucs center Ryan Jensen in the facemask.
Not the best idea.
It’s hard to blame Nichols, or any of the Bears defenders, for being frustrated by this point in the game. They were dominated by Tom Brady and the Buccaneers offense from kickoff. And the Bears offense certainly didn’t to their defense any favors by turning the ball over and failing to sustain drives so that the D could rest.
